William Poms has been at the forefront of intellectual property litigation in Los Angeles for more than four decades. A patent lawyer with training in mechanical engineering, Bill has tried numerous cases in the federal courts throughout the United States and before such agencies as the International Trade Commission. Bill has also served as an arbitrator and a mediator in a number of high-profile commercial disputes around the country.

Over 40 years ago, Bill became involved with the Licensing Executives Society (LES), a professional organization whose purpose is to further the profession of the transfer of technology. Today, LES has over 6,000 members in over 30 chapters around the world, including the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, United Kingdom and other countries in the European Economic Community, Russia, Mexico and South America. Bill was awarded the Gold Medal (the highest honor given by LES) for his involvement in the transfer of technology and licensing throughout the years and his significant contributions to the LES. Bill also served in 1980 as a member of the U.S. Government's delegation to visit China for three weeks to assist that country in developing its patent and licensing laws.
