Born in Los Angeles and a member of the Bars of California, Utah and the Federated States of Micronesia, Teri Youhanaie has had legal experience in a wide variety of areas. Since commencing her practice as a commercial litigator in 1989, Teri has represented small and large companies involved in product liability, insurance coverage and other business disputes in both state and federal court. In the past several years, she has developed invaluable expertise directing the implementation of nation-wide, mass tort class action settlements and designing practical responses to meet the unique challenges presented by complex class settlements.

After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, Teri joined the international law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker. She then served as Assistant Attorney General for the Federated States of Micronesia where she advised the President and government agencies, litigated on behalf of the government in the enforcement of fishing and other international treaties, and generally assisted in democracy building. She returned to Los Angeles and joined Shapiro, Rodarte & Freedman LLP in 1997.

An avid world traveler, Teri has trekked extensively through more than forty countries, mostly developing nations. When in the States, she and her family spend time on the slopes skiing.
